About us
Barrow Trade is a local directory for finding skilled tradespeople in Barrow-in-Furness and the surrounding LA12–LA20 postcodes. It was set up by a local resident after seeing how hard it can be to find reliable, good local tradies in Barrow — and how expensive the national directories have become for the trades themselves.
The site has one simple aim: put homeowners and local trades in touch directly, and stay out of the way. That means we never stand between you and the trader, and we never take a cut of the job.
What we promise
- No commission — we never take a percentage of any job.
- No per-lead fees — traders don't pay to send you a quote.
- Direct contact — phone numbers and contact details are visible on every profile, not hidden behind a paywall.
- Skilled local trades — every listed business is based in the LA12–LA20 area.
- Insurance checked — verified trust badges are only shown after a business's documents have been checked by us.
How it works
For homeowners: search for the trade you need, compare profiles and verified badges, then contact the trader directly or request a free quote. It costs you nothing, and you deal with the trader directly — we only make the introduction.
For trades: create a free profile, get approved, and start receiving enquiries. Paid plans add extras like featured placement, but a free listing is a full listing — reviews, contact details and all. Your reviews are yours, and you can download them from your dashboard at any time.
