Privacy notice
This explains what we do with the details you give us. It applies to homeowners requesting quotes and to businesses listing on Barrow Trade.
What we collect
For a quote request: your name, email, optional phone number, postcode, job description, timeframe and budget range. For a business account: your business details and contact information.
Why we collect it
To pass your enquiry to matched tradespeople so they can quote. We only do this after you tick the consent box on the quote form. Marketing emails are separate and optional.
Who sees it
Up to three matched businesses, plus the Barrow Trade team. We never sell your details, and businesses only see enquiries sent to them.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for 24 months so we can handle disputes and quality checks, then deleted.
Advertising measurement
With your consent, we use the Meta (Facebook) pixel to measure how our Facebook and Instagram ads perform: pages viewed, quote requests sent and business listings submitted, plus device and browser information. Visitors in the UK, EU/EEA and Switzerland are asked first via the cookie banner — the pixel only runs if you press Accept, and your choice is remembered in this browser. Meta acts as a recipient of this data under its own privacy policy. You can change your mind by clearing this site's stored data in your browser, and opt out of ad personalisation in your Facebook ad preferences or by blocking third-party cookies.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, withdraw consent or have it deleted. Email privacy@barrowtrade.co.uk and we'll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to the ICO.
